Principal's Message
Go Flying L’s!

It is a great honor and pleasure to be the principal of the premier high school in Broward County. Having been principal of Ft. Lauderdale High since 2011, I have come to truly appreciate and love my students and community. It is my personal goal to ensure we continue to build upon the tradition of success by providing our students with a rigorous and personalized educational experience along with a variety of leadership opportunities. To all my students, I know your time at FLHS will give you unique experiences for personal growth and development which will lead each of you to reach all your aspirations, fulfill your human potential and realize your dreams.

Fort Lauderdale High School is the optimal place to explore new interests and discover who you wish to become. As a Flying “L,” you will find both students and staff respect each other and work collaboratively towards the common goal of academic excellence. We have high expectations for our students and know our parents share in these expectations. We recognize children's diverse abilities, interests, and background, and our goal is to provide an educational experience to meet each individual’s needs.

We have another great year planned for our students. From new classes like Chinese, AICE Tourism and AP Physics C to our swim team and their new aquatic center, great things are always happening at Fort Lauderdale High. I encourage all my students and families to take advantage of all the opportunities this great educational institution affords you. Always remember, you are welcome to visit our school or meet with our teachers.

The Flying “L” alumni is one of the most active and involved groups in the nation. Whether you are a graduate, a parent, or currently attending, I hope you will become an active member of our community. If I can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me through email or directly at 754-322-1138. I look forward to meeting you and joining you in this amazing journey of teaching and learning.

Sincerely,

Priscilla B. Ribeiro, M.B.A., Ed.S.
